Our Story
He and I Construction began with a simple idea and a strong work ethic. Founded in 1995 by Al and Lucille Alfaro, we started as a small hardwood floor refinishing company right here in Lawton, Oklahoma. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, we quickly expanded our services to include full remodels and general contracting. By the early 2000s, we earned our 8(a) certification and entered the world of government contracting, further establishing our reputation for quality.
Over the years, He and I Construction has been awarded contracts totaling over $100,000,000, including multiple IDIQ and SABER contracts. We have proudly completed over 2,000 home remodels across Southwest Oklahoma, solidifying our place as a trusted name in the community.
In 2006, Al Alfaro was honored as the SBA Oklahoma Small Business Person of the Year, and in 2011, He and I Construction was recognized as the Oklahoma Business of the Year—a testament to our commitment to both our craft and our community.
However, like many small businesses, we faced challenges. When Al fell ill before the COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to close our doors. After years of recovery and with the support and motivation from his kids and family, the Alfaro family decided in 2024 to reopen He and I Construction. Now, with a new generation at the helm, we are ready to continue the family legacy and proudly serve Southwest Oklahoma once again.
The next chapter of He and I Construction is built on the same foundation of hard work and dedication that started it all. We’re excited to continue building and remodeling with care, integrity, and the expertise that comes from over 25 years of experience.
